Pastor Darrell and Heather Dunlap were called to Belvidere Evangelical Covenant Church in June 2026 as our new senior pastor. Pastor Darrell formerly served as senior pastor at Christ Community Church of San Diego, California for 21 years. He and Heather both served in children’s and youth pastoral ministry at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois. They have one son, Austin, who is in his senior year at University of Wisconsin at Whitewater. They have a “sheepadoodle” named Belle and reside in Belvidere. Pastor Darrell is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University in California and Rutgers – the State University of New Jersey, while Heather is a graduate of Winona State University.
